Artist's Comments

"No one is looking at you, so why be afraid? You have all the time in the world."

technicals:

bathtub with blue tub tints, self timer, self reflections, this is what came out of the camera, no manips. I took what I could get. I wish there weren't so much skin hanging out on the right, and I could manip it out but I'm not touching this photo. This is what I looked like earlier tonight. This is what happened.

I'm doing these self portraits for class. Don't worry about me, I'm just having some fun exploring my psyche. ;)

There's something serene about being under water, something of comfort in the silence, the feeling of weightlessness, the cool moisture on your skin. This is what Why be afraid? by =diamondscan reminds me of. And part of the reason this photograph touched me so. It's also well-shot, with brilliant detail and color, and just simply visually beautiful. (Featured by `mangapunksai)

Ooh, this is probably my favorite of the two. It might look more consistent without the arm showing above the water, but it's quite nifty.

did it dye your skin blue?

nope, tub tints are made for bathtime, so they don't do any coloring. :aww:

:wow: That is so incredible! I love the color and the way the water reflects onto your face. Your hair looks gorgeous and dreamlike, too. I'd love to see the other one but it's too big and I'm on 56k. :( The bubbles are just amazing here; I love how subtle they are and how they just float around in all the right places. I honestly can't see one thing about this I don't like. I actually love the skin showing because it looks as if you're waking up and exiting the water. For some reason I think of some mermaid lying on the shore at night when I see this. Beautiful piece! :D

Oh this is absolutely goregeous. I love the richness of the color and here, and the composition really just makes this entire picture flow so nicely. I also just have an affinity for water, I like being underwater myself, and the serenity in your face reflects that feeling.

The colors wicked, its obvious its the color you want it. I ignore people when they say my color or contrast is wrong, coz im the fucking artist! not them. So yes, anyhow. love this one, its so perfect and clear and sharp. =) well done. good luck with your class.

I love the way the hair looks. I have always loved underwater shots of people with long hair. It just looks so flowy and all soft!
